The Anarchist Pilgrimage is become definite.

I got paid today and have spent almost 500 pounds on visas and tickets - my first big one is booked on the route below for 4th august. So if you're interested in this project, see my other blog - it's where my energies will be gradually transferred until, from 25th July, I will be on the rails, crossing europe and doodling as I go.

2 days travel on one train, all the way through two countries including one of Europe's last dictatorships, in a cabin with 2 strangers.

More Spence!

My head is still filled with Spence, so here's another doodly cartoon I did to one of Keith Armstrong's poems.

Thomas Spence on Midsummer's Day

A special day for the radical heritage of Tyneside.

In the evening, at the Lit & Phil, the stalwarts of the WEA (and me) gathered:

Don't know who Spence is? Look here.

Here are some other drawings for and about Spence that I didn't finish in time for the 'History and that' anthology. I still dream one day of doing a comic about Spence.

And a picture of Spence I quite like from the first thing about him I drew:

The drawings of Marsden Rock for the fabulous tale of 'Jack the Blaster' were sadly left and lost on a train when I got off at Dent.

But one day, ONE DAY, I will stick these various doodles and more together into a Spence comic that makes sense.

More Mind Maps - 1848

I don't know if these are useable for the eventual 'anarchist pilgrimage' zine, or are just for my notes, but I do know the 1848 history book I'm working from is well overdue and has already cost me £5.

A day off sick, catching up on drawing.

I thought it was about time I pulled a sickie, but I actually turned out just about ill enough to justify a day off work anyway.

Drew these bits for the two upcoming Paper Jam anthologies.

First for 'Art ... and that'

Second, for 'Music ... and that'

Also the beach zine has gone to the printers so it should be being left places for free as usual by the end of next week. It's a great feeling to draw a zine and have it printed it in the same month.

love & headaches,
Mike

A Week at the Beach - photos

Hi, my next zine will go to the printers this week. 48 A6 pages unless I manage to edit it down a little, all from living and walking on the Northumberland coast. Here are some pictures from the week.

Postcards sent along the way:
